COLLECTION FOR THE ARCHDIOCESE
FOR THE MILITARY
This Weekend-November 8th & 9th
This collection benefits the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS). The AMS receives no funding from the U.S. Government or the U.S. Military, has no parishes for a weekly in-pew collection and must rely principally on private donations to fund an annual operating budget of over $8.2 million. Envelopes are in the pews for your use. Checks may be made out to “Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland”. We appreciate your generosity!

COAT & BLANKET DRIVE
November 1st –December 31st
Vincent de Paul will be collecting coats (men’s, women’s and children’s - new and gently used) and blankets. As winter approaches, many in our community do not have the resources necessary to purchase these items. This is true not only for those who are unhoused, but also for families who cannot afford to keep their homes heated. We all know what PG&E bills look like during the winter. You will find collection barrels at the Somerset and parking lot sides of the church, along with one in the Parish Office.
SVdP is also asking for your gifts of food and cash/gift cards during our Thanksgiving Liturgy. Please help us to help the needy in our community. Items most needed are as follows:
Peanut Butter, Jam/Jelly, Tuna, Cereal, Fruit Cups, Canned Soup/Chili, Canned Chicken, Canned Fruit & Vegetables, Pasta & Pasta Sauce, Rice, Boxed Fruit Drinks, Individual Bags of Chips/Cookies.

POST-ACUTE PATIENTS IN NEED OF DONATIONS
St. Vincent de Paul and OLG Faith Formation are requesting donations of new toiletries, hats, scarves, socks, slippers, and pajamas to be given as gifts this Christmas to residents of a post-acute healthcare facility in Castro Valley. Donation bins are at the Somerset side of the church, the Parish Office, and Stack Center. Thank you for your kindness and support!
REMEMBERING OUR DECEASED
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
The envelopes for All Souls’ will be placed on the altar in November for those wishing to remember their loved ones. Our Book of Remembrance also provides an opportunity to record names of deceased loved ones to be lifted up in our prayer during the month of November. You may also bring a picture of your loved one to be placed on the table before the St. Joseph statue in the Church and it will remain there during the month of November. Please put your name and contact info on the back of the photo.

WOMEN’S FAITH SHARING ADVENT INVITATION
Rejoice! An Advent Pilgrimage with Word on Fire
Begins November 25th
For Christians, Advent is not meant to be a time of passive waiting, but rather of hopeful preparation for the coming of the Lord. This Advent, the Women’s Bible Study will be using Bishop Robert Barron’s Word on Fire Advent Gospel Reflections. This devotional booklet features the full Gospel reading for each day of Advent, a daily reflection from Bishop Baron, space for journaling and answering reflection questions and more!
We will meet on Tuesdays at 7:00pm in Stack Center to discuss the week’s reflections and to watch a video that will help us enter more deeply into the prayerful nature of the season. We will begin on Tuesday, November 25th and go through December 16th. Cost is $3. Please sign up with Jay in the Parish Office at 510-537-0806 by Monday, November 3rd.
